   Grand
Tour

The Grand Tour was a traditional trip of Europe made by moneyed gentlemen in the 18th and 19th century.   The conventional route took the traveller through Paris, Geneva, Milan and Rome ending in Naples.   To celebrate my 50th birthday, I created my own Grand Tour, taking in fine hotels as well as the odd bus station and ferry terminal.   From Calais to Cannes in just ten days.
