Ikarus, the Hungarian bus manufacturer, has been building vehicles for the UK market for ten years now.   Over 300 vehicles have so far entered service, all on DAF chassis.  This is a brief summary of their story.
London Coaches operated Ikarus/DAFs on the high profile Green Line 726 service from Dartford to Heathrow Airport.   Their DK15 (L513KJX) is seen at Kington in April 1998. Carlisle has regular National Express departures, as most cross-border services call there.   Selwyns S428JUA is seen in the bus station in December 2001. Blue Bus of Horwich has been a regular purchaser of Ikarus vehicles.   Their 36 (Y36KNB) has one of the new low-floor  bodies and is seen at Bolton railway station in April 2001.
