February 2007
Britain has been battered by storms during the winter this year.   One of the first of these passed through Devon and Cornwall one Monday evening in mid-October 2006.   Exmouth on the East Devon coast was hit by torrential rain and gusty winds which sent the locals running for cover.   Stagecoach Devon serve the town with surprisingly decrepit vehicles, considering there has been such investment in the company elsewhere.   Current favourites are Volvo Citybuses cascaded from other south coast companies such as Southdown and East Kent.  They are joined by former Newcastle single deck Scanias and the odd minibus.   It was not an evening for a stroll along the prom.
