Since the demise of the train service from London to Stranraer in the early 1990's, the only public transport service from England to Northern Ireland has been the Eurolines coach service from London and Birmingham to Belfast.   The day service from Birmingham arrives at Stranraer just before overnight service departs for London.  Passengers change onto or from the ferry at Stranraer Ferry Terminal.     At Christmas the loadings are particularly heavy, requiring the operation of duplicate vehicles.   This article is a summary of these services at Christmas 2001.
