About to depart
Stranraer ferry terminal for London in December 2001 is Ulsterbus 1659
(BCZ1659). |
Freshly delivered
1660 (BCZ1660) departs Digbeth Coach Station in Birmingham on the
day service to Belfast in March 1999. |
Since
1975 an express coach service has operated between Belfast and London
using the Stranraer to Larne ferry. Many companies have served
on the route including National Travel, Dodds of Troon, Western SMT and
Ulsterbus. However as of January 2002 Stagecoach Western
withdrew from the route and transferred its three coaches to
Fife. This has left Ulsterbus as the sole operator on the
service using four Plaxton/Volvos in Eurolines livery based at their own
depot in Stranraer, an outstation of Glengall Street in Belfast. |
