an East Lancs bodied Scania N94, seen when new at the Brighton Coach
Rally in April 2004.

Beer in August 2006. This vehicle was not painted in X53
livery and acted as the spare for the service.

May 2005.

an East Lancs bodied Scania N94, at the charmingly named Newton
Poppleford in July 2005.

an East Lancs bodied Scania N94, at the quaint fishing village of
Beer in July 2005.

a Wright bodied B9TL, at Exeter in June 2010. This is
one of a batch of seven that replaced the East Lancs bodied Scanias
in 2008.
- First Hants & Dorset 62410 (YS03ZKF),
a Wright bodied Scania L94, in Lyme Regis in January 2004.
This was one of a preliminary batch of vehicles that was used to
upgrade the route before the route-branded Scania double-deckers
were delivered.

a Wright bodied Scania L94, near Abbotsbury with Chesil beach behind
in January 2004.

a Wright bodied B9TL, at West Bay near Bridport in May 2009.

a Wright bodied B9TL, in Weymouth in May 2010.

an East Lancs bodied Scania N94, on the level crossing at Wool in
May 2005. In a stroke of genius the timetable was
altered half way through this Bank Holiday weekend. To
the bafflement of intending passengers and photographers the new
timetables did not appear on the internet or bus stops until after
the event.

a Wright bodied B9TL, at Poole in March 2010.
- First Hants & Dorset 36001
(YN04GNV), an East Lancs bodied Scania N94, at Bournemouth
in May 2007. For a short period of time certain journeys
were extended from Poole to Bournemouth.
- Stagecoach Devon 32056 (N56KBW),
a Plaxton bodied Dart, at Newton Poppleford providing a connecting
service to Exmouth in August 2006. The X53 itself is run
entirely by First Bus but starts and ends deep in other operator's
territory - namely Exeter (Stagecoach Devon) and Poole (Wilts &
Dorset).
