Lisbon, the capital of Portugal, is a majestic city full of public transport.   As well as copious amounts of buses, it operates trams both new and old.   In addition the city can also be explored using funiculars which make light of those infamous hills and a magnificent elevador, perfectly preserved right in the centre of the town.   Make sure you pack shorts and sun glasses as the summers can get very hot.
