- Tower Transit VH38113
(BU16UXD), a Volvo B5LH highbrid at the Cobham Bus Rally in
April 2016. Gemini 3's can be delivered with traditional
Gemini 2 fronts however this article concentrates on those with
Gemini 3 fronts.
- Reading Buses 904 (SK66HRX) in Woodley in
November 2016. This is a Streetdeck integral vehicle
manufactured by Wrights and has a Daimler engine. This batch
of vehicles have glass staircases and are used on a group of the
least frequented routes in Reading.
- Lothian Buses 442 (SJ66LOD), a Volvo B5TL at
Leith in May 2017 on the lengthy cross-city service to the Gyle
Centre. Lothian were the first company to specify glass
staircases. Whatever happened to modesty panels on buses
?
- Go North East 6307 (NK16BXG) at
Chester-le-Street in August 2016 on the Castles services from Bishop
Auckland to Newcastle. Go Ahead are one of the biggest
purchasers of Streetdecks so far.
- The other main supporter of Streetdecks is First whose
35174 (SK16GUG) is seen in Leicester in December 2016.
As with many other cities Leicester has adopted coloured wedge
fronts which by coincidence were invented by Midland Fox in that
very town.
- Transdev is going through a period of major investment in its
fleets in Yorkshire and Lancashire. As part of
this program 10 B5TL's have been bought for the Coastliner services
from Leeds to the Yorkshire Coast. Their 3632
(BT66MVP) is seen in a very damp Malton in December 2016 en
route to Leeds.
- Oxford see regular upgrades to vehicles from both Stagecoach and
Go Ahead. Recently Go Ahead bought unusual low height
Streetdecks as seen here by 654 (SL15ZGF) at the
railway station in February 2016.
- Since James Freeman arrived from Reading Buses to manage First
West of England there has been a change of emphasis on several areas
of operation. So possibly it isn't such a great surprise to
see the 376 Mendip Xplorer service from Bristol to Street now
operated by eight new double deckers (the first time in at least a
generation). Their 35167 (SK65PWO),
another Streetdeck, is seen leaving Bristol bus station for Street
in February 2016.
- Of the so-called Big5 UK bus operators predictably only
Stagecoach don't possess a Gemini 3 (apart from those in London).
Arriva has several batches including striking hybrids in Merseyside.
Here though is a Saphire liveried Streetdeck 4600 (FJ64EZ)
of East Midlands leaving the recently opened Derby bus station in
August 2016.
- Clip 1 - First South Yorkshire 3117 (SM65EFD)
at Meadowhall on the X78 from Sheffield to Doncaster in May 2016.
- Clip 2 - Transdev Harrogate 3618 (BL65YYR)
leaving Ripon for Leeds on the 36 service in May 2016.
